ABOUT

The Netherlands ARC Design Competition is an international design competition organized by the Netherlands Global Art Development Promotion Association (NGADPA) and co-organized by the Overseas Chinese Artists Association (OCAA) of the UK. The competition aims to promote global exchange and development in the field of design, providing designers with a platform to showcase their talents and learn from each other, while also offering enterprises and organizations the opportunity to discover outstanding design talents.

ARC stands for “Arc,” symbolizing the creativity and beauty of design. Like an arc, a designer’s creative thinking extends infinitely. They use unique perspectives and creative methods to transform imagination into reality, creating works that combine practicality and artistry. Additionally, the “arc” symbolizes a bridge, connecting designers from different cultures, fields, and backgrounds, sparking creative collisions on this platform and jointly promoting the development of the design industry.

Through the competition, we hope to discover more promising designers, support and encourage them, and inject new vitality into the design industry, promoting innovation and development in design.

Competition Theme

The competition is non-thematic, with no restrictions, but during the design process, please refer to the following content:

This year’s Netherlands ARC Design Competition is themed “Arc,” encouraging designers to freely express their creativity and interpret the concept of “Arc” from multiple angles. “Arc” is an abstract and imaginative concept that can represent physical curves or abstract connections. Designers can consider and create from the following aspects:

Use elements such as curves and arc surfaces to create aesthetically pleasing and dynamic designs. For example, curved seats in furniture design, arch structures in architectural design, and streamlined appearances in product design. By skillfully using forms, make works more beautiful and humanized.

Arc of Form

Use the concept of “Arc” to create comfortable and interesting spatial experiences. For instance, use curved walls and partitions in interior design to create smooth spatial flows; use arc-shaped exhibitions in exhibition design to guide the audience’s sight and steps; use arc-shaped paths in landscape design to create natural and harmonious environments.

Arc of Space

Use “Arc” as a carrier of emotional expression to convey certain emotions or stories through design. For example, use curves in graphic design to express gentle, elegant, and dynamic emotions; use arc-shaped design language in product design to shape the personality and tone of the product; use the concept of “emotional arc” in service design to create engaging user experiences.

Arc of Emotion

Combine “Arc” with cutting-edge technology to create AI and interactive design works.

Arc of Technology

Apply the concept of “Arc” to sustainable development, creating environmentally friendly and energy-saving design solutions. For example, use arc-shaped natural ventilation design to reduce energy consumption; use arc-shaped solar collectors to improve energy utilization efficiency; use arc-shaped modular design to achieve product disassembly and recyclability.
